Required Entrant Skillsets

  • Offroad Running (incl. River Swimming)

    Adept at running and power-walking over uneven, technical and steep ground on and off-trail.

    Confident swimmer in all running attire, with good understanding and practice ferry gliding across moving water.

    Comfortable in cold/refreshing water.

    NOTE: Any non-motorised floatation and/or propelling piece of equipment may be used provided they are carried from the start to the finish of the entire offroad run stage.

  • Down River & Open Water Kayaking

    Competent paddling grade 1 river and across open water.

    Comfortable kayaking around other paddlers as well as paddling by one’s self.

    Knowledge of moving water dynamics and able to identify and keep away from present dangers.

    Confident at self-rescue

    Understanding how to signal for help.

  • Mountain Biking

    Do not forget, two words describe Mountain Biking.

    Competent climbing and descending big hills, riding technical single track, farm tracks, and gravel roads. |

    Comfortable & self-sufficient in remote surrounds.

    Understanding of basic bike mechanics to effect self-repairs.

    Practiced at hike-a-biking.

    This is a true multisport course so be prepared for a good challenge.
